Parent Testimonials about Castro’s YMCA

“ My daughter adores the Y. It is her favorite part of the day. She loves the teachers, the activities and spending time with the other children in the program. Life would be very difficult for us if the Y program were not at Castro.

Sara (mom of DI kinder)

“ I have a PACT Kinder at the Y. My daughter is in need of CONSTANT stimulation and structure and what they have been able to provide is outstanding. I too, have a crying child if I pick her up too early. She is a wiggler, runner, jumper and bouncer and every day that I pick her up, she is sitting and focused on something, whether it be a board game that the staff has taken a painstaking amount of time and patience to teach her, or some sort of art or craft. They have fabulous conflict resolution skills while still allowing the kids to be kids. I have had my daughter in MANY preschools over the years, some of them prestigious and expensive, and I have to say that the Y rivals them with ease.”

Tara (mom of PACT kinder)

“ You know he doesn't like change, so there was much fussing and crying about the new school, and how he wanted to go back to the old one and his friends. After about a week, it changed. He said "Mom, do you know why I like my new school (Castro) better than Rainbow? It's because they didn't have a YMCA”.

Christina (mom of PACT kinder)

“ This year, there is a small budget, but Concepcion is doing a great job at using this money wisely. … There hasn't been a day when I've heard my kids say they're bored or it wasn't fun. In fact, my son often cries when I get there because he doesn't want to leave. “

Diana (mom of PACT 5th grader and DI kinder)

“ My daughter loves being at the Y, and often asks me to allow her to stay later than 2:30pm to spend time with the older kids. The teachers are very gentle, polite, sincere, professional and caring people. They are doing an excellent job with the kids! It has been a pleasure for me to organize the YMCA Wish List drive and get an amazing response from all parents in donating toys and art supplies to the Y. The teachers have greatly helped Castro community at large by working with us at fundraising events. We love our Y teachers!”

Maja (mom of DI kinder)

“ I just want to chime in and second the positive things you've all been saying about the Y -- I'm so grateful that it's available to us at Castro, and I think they do an excellent job.”
