Welcome to the Castro PTA:
On behalf of Castro School, we would like to thank you for joining the Castro PTA. Last year the PTA:
* Increased membership by 100% to bring its total to over 225 members
* Raised funds to support the classroom teachers.
* Coordinated Sports Day and Science Nights
* Coordinated the record keeping of over 5,000 volunteer hours at the school.
* Produced and distributed a school wide directory
* Organized Teacher Appreciation Week and other ways of saying thank you to the wonderful teachers
* Coordinated a Reading Challenge Program
* Produced and distributed a monthly newsletter
Our theme for this year is Castro Pride. As members of the Castro PTA, we hope that you will take pride in your child's/children's school. It is a very special place where children are valued and inspired by extremely dedicated teachers and staff members. As parents, we can help make this school even better by becoming involved in the education of our children.
The PTA would also like to encourage pride in our school by working on a cleanliness campaign. We would like to show our neighbors that we are proud enough of our school to keep it looking good.
We hope to fulfill many of the goals from last year. We are also starting a Room Parent program, which will allow us to communicate with all parents in a simplified way. We need volunteers to be Room Parents. Please contact us if you are interested.
